During recent upgrades of some of the control panels the opportunity was taken to use computer software to design the front panels. Graphics software such as Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop have been used to produce detailed track diagrams which, when printed, form the basis of the panels.

The most recent panel to be constructed (the installation at the new Grey Havens station, see image on left) uses photographic paper, and was printed at a photo shop.
